From the Photographer:
Weddings held at your own estate are so beautiful! Lisa-Marie and Selim, who are both from Vancouver held both their wedding ceremony and reception at their Aunt’s Burlington home who has an amazing backyard! It was the perfect set up, with the chairs facing large willow trees which shaded the wedding party during the ceremony. A tent that housed the food, the cake, and the welcome table. Then there were two long rows for dining!
This one was hard working couple. Right up until about 40 minutes before the ceremony was about to begin, they were setting up the tables. Their hard work surely paid off, because it looked so magical! My most favorite aspect of the wedding was the log arbor decorated with wild flowers! It was so rustic and so utterly pretty! The personalized hand made place mats which also acted as place cards were also a really nice touch along with hand made Turkish colorful wedding favors (Turkish blend tea in Turkish tins)! I really loved how they incorporated Turkish elements into the wedding, even having henna done in the morning on the bride and the bridesmaids’ left hands and they all wore jewellery from Turkey as well.
Lisa-Marie and Selim met on set. Selim, a commercial cinematographer, needed a few last minute actors and little did he know, that he would meet his future wife that day! Selim fell in love with Lisa in the editing room and she laughs at how cliche it is! But I think it’s super cute especially since they ended up dating right away and have been together through long distance which is tough on any relationship! I say if you can make it through long distance, never letting distance come between you – you can make it through anything! And that’s what exactly Lisa and Selim did and continued to support each other while they both pursued their respective careers. I love how strong willed this couple is.
Approximately 90 members of their family came to witness Lisa and Selim tie the knot on this beautiful sunny day. How can I wedding be any better when you have amazing sunshine and great company? They ended the night with some traditional Turkish dancing but the most magical moment was when Lisa and Selim had their first dance at sunset. The warm rays shone down and I couldn’t imagine anything more beautiful.
We went to Dundurn Castle for their bride & groom portraits. Lisa and Selim are such a love-filled couple who I can just tell that they treasure each other so deeply. They are so excited to be expecting their baby boy, Henrick soon and I know that they will bless their lives with so much love!!
