From the Photographer:
Daniel and Gina’s love story begins during a research study trip to Ghana, Africa. Once they returned from Africa they were together only a short time before they were engaged. Being that Gina was raised in Wisconsin and her father had recently passed, they decided her family campground would be the perfect location for their wedding. Their guests from Ohio drove 14 hours to be at their wedding and the day couldn’t have been more perfect. Overcast skies until the reception where the sun peaked out just in time for the whole bridal party to jump into the lake. This wedding was a perfect fit for their laid back personalities and everyone loved being able to camp out for their special day. Each moment and detail were special and to be remembered.
Gina’s dad called her mom his wild flower so she had her guests bring flowers from their yards, fields, and everywhere they could find any. She also had her bridesmaids pick their own bouquets next to the ceremony site. Once they were done with pictures they threw them in the lake. Gina’s dog Bear was even the ring bearer. The girls got ready in a camper…in true camping ways. She wore a special sweet grass crown that smelled amazing and had value in her Native American culture. She didn’t wear any shoes because that’s just how she is. Once they finished their ceremony on the beach they headed up to a campsite for the reception.
What a time that was. They didn’t have any bouquet toss, garter toss, or dancing really. They wanted to make time for the whole bridal party to jump into the lake at sunset!! And what a sunset that was. Gina and Daniel looked fantastic jumping into the lake for their pictures at the end of the night. The whole group of wedding guests couldn’t believe they would jump into the lake…but they did!!! Such a fun and personal wedding to be apart of.
