From the Photographer:
Megan owns a hip fashion boutique in a small town in Wellsville, NY. You can see her style on display throughout her store so it was no surprise that she took on the project of designing her own eco-friendly wedding at the cabin and barn that was built by the Groom, Nick’s Grandparents. She wanted bridesmaids dresses of a different style and found Jill Sawazki owner of Tony Chestnut who handmade the each of the dresses per each girls style.
The night before her wedding her, Nick and their family and friends spent the evening pulling her vision together. Lights strung through the barn for ambiance, pieces of Nicks old childhood home displayed throughout such as the claw foot tub serving as a drink cooler and the old wooden doors set as a backdrop of the head table. The rocking bench that was his Grandmothers, old milk crates stacked for the mason jar favors, wine barrels topped with a withered door for the h’orderves and it goes on…..
The morning of her wedding she woke up and picked the wild flowers that were used for the center pieces that were surrounded by the perfectly laid out corn-husk plates and wooden cutlery. She completed the boutonnieres and bouquets as she wrapped them in a band of silk and burlap. Completed her own makeup while a friend styled her hair. There was her daughter serving as one of the flower girls and Me, who got to witness and photograph the wedding of a long time fried and her fiance’ who brought out the best in one another.
This was a wedding that was beautifully detailed with family history and celebrated in love.
