The wedding industry not just thrives in the summer season; we will see many post-holiday romantic wedding proposals and breathtaking weddings as we approach February, the month dedicated to celebrating love!

The wedding trends of 2012 are inspired from the latest fashion fiestas. Here is a quick overview of what weddings will be all about this year:

Dreams and Themes:

Deciding upon a theme may be the hardest of all challenges, but whether the theme is Victorian, vintage, outdoor garden, beach, fairytale or color specific, it helps narrow down otherwise complicated flower and décor choices. Also the harmony a theme creates adds a touch of glamour and sophistication to the event.

Say No to Matching Colors:

Ever been to a wedding where everything is in the same color? This year, the trend is changing as the wedding is decorated in not just a monotone, but a variety of colors and combinations. Even the bridesmaids dress up in different colors and styles, respecting individual differences.

Dress to Impress:

Last year, Princess Kate’s Royal Wedding inspired millions across the globe. This obviously means the long sleeved and laced wedding gowns are the hit this season. Short gowns are also making an entry in the bridal couture, which allows the brides to show off their brightly colored killer shoes! Though most brides still prefer white gowns, some add a bright sash around the waist that corresponds with the shoes. However, a few designers have made a radical move and launched the bridal fashion in light hues of peach, lilac, blush, pink and faintest hint of silver and gold. So conservative dressing will be set aside this year to endorse the new fashion trends.

Dolled Up & Picture Perfect:

Bridal veils will be gone this season, so that the bride herself remains in focus. Make up will be used to enhance the bride’s natural beauty, giving an overall flawless look. Hair styles will be simpler this year. However, hair accessories like vintage clips, feathers and flowers are a must; adding a sweet, pretty touch to the entire look.

The Highlight of Any Wedding: The Cake!

There is no perfect wedding without a delicious and beautiful cake. Traditionally, cakes were decorated with sugary roses and blooms; but this year, a three to five tiered cake adorned artistically in ribbons will be the trend. Cakes are going to be flower-less, which means a little more simple yet elegant.

The Socially Networked Weddings:

This year, weddings will be covered online through the use of Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites. Brides and grooms will be sharing everything online, from digital invitations to the event photographs. Wedding blogs will witness many hits this season, providing up-to-date information on latest trends. Who knows, the brides and grooms may be tweeting during ceremonies!

Stay Close to Nature:

Whether it’s the reception décor, the altar, dinner seating or it’s about center pieces; stay close to nature this year. Outdoor weddings are also gaining popularity. However, the Edward and Bella’s wedding look can be created indoors as well by using wood and twine. The idea is to seek inspiration from Mother Nature.
