Having a unique theme for your special day not only makes planning a bit easier, but also a lot more fun. One great inspirational wedding idea is using a travel theme. From save the dates and gift cards to decorations and wedding favors, travel inspiration is integrated at every opportunity.

#1 Save the Dates

Changing the shape of your save the dates can create a whimsical travel feel. Try using the luggage tag shape for your save the dates. This provides the detail you’re looking for, without an overdone feel. Get all the important dates on your card while also sharing a bit with attendees about what to expect. They’re sure to be impressed with your attention to detail. Adding flair to the save the dates will leave a lasting impression on the guests and hopefully encourage them to keep the reminder on their fridge. If you are using the luggage tags use a black ribbon or rope to attach to their luggage giving the luggage tag a unique look and appeal.

#2 Wedding Rings

Traveling couples deserve something unique, like the tungsten black carbon fiber wedding band and the women’s Tungsten diamond thick band.

#3 Invites

Since you’ve gone the luggage tag route for your save the dates, try something creative for your invites. Designing your invites like a boarding pass is inventive and memorable. Again, the theme is shared with your guests and provides some whimsy to the usually traditional invitation. A travel brochure is a cute idea as well.

#4 Seating Chart & Table Arrangement

A traditional wedding often either has open seating or assigned seating with place cards. Take this to a whole new level by creating a visual seating chart, complete with a map of the world with guests names arranged at their assigned tables. Make each table a specific country and invite guests to experience that country at their tables. Decorate the table according to the traditions, colors and culture of that country. Frame a picture with a map of the country the table is themed as well. Another idea would be to make them airport terminals.

#5 Decorations at the Reception

There’s always a gift table at a wedding, so why not put some luggage and ask guests to place their cards and gifts in suitcases. Hard covered vintage luggage isn’t hard to find these days, pick up a few pieces and go along with the travel theme. Printing postcards, passports, using stamps and even faux airline tickets are additional decorations within the travel theme.

#6 Wedding Favors

Try using suitcases to hold your wedding favors and gift wrap them in paper bags with maps printed on them. Find charms and use stamps to complete the look and add whimsy. Some brides have handmade paper airplanes as wedding favors to round out the travel theme. The possibilities are endless when it comes to wedding favors.

#7 Thank You Cards

After the nuptials, reception and honeymoon you’ll want to send along thank you cards to your guests for their gifts and attendance. The theme must not stop with the wedding! Send along to your guests thank you cards made out of postcards, with your sincerest thanks printed hand printed on the back. Again, this added detail is charming and inviting for the overall theme of your wedding.

When well thought-out themed weddings come together and all the details are in place, a wedding has an added charm that guests will remember for years to come. Make your special day memorable with a great travel themed wedding.
