  • I love the new Q&A you guys are doing! We asked everyone to bring their favorite pie. So we are having a pie dessert table.

  • I made a cakepop stand for my wife who is actually going to take on making all the cakepops for our wedding.

  • Love reading what everyone is doing. We are doing homemade cookies! Serving shots of milk.

  • But of course what would a wedding be without Southern pies! However, I do like what Cookie Lovers are doing – very cute idea!

  • This is so much fun! We are doing a candy buffet table. Our theme is green and white so we bought all kinds of candy in green and white with beautiful glass jars we got at the Dollar Store.

  • We opted to do kind of a fake cake to save money. 3 layers – the bottom layer to cut in front of our guests. Top and middle layers are Styrofoam and then sheet cakes hidden in the back. Saved ups $250 doing it this way.

  • Thought I would be the only guy to comment – my partner and I are doing cakepops – Ombre style!

  • We are doing cake but not traditional. We opted to do two round cakes, single layers – one the brides cake and one is for the groom. We are having a smaller wedding. I wanted mine to be all chocolate – so that isn’t very traditional.

  • I am a cartoonist and so I like to doodle a lot – my fiance’ thought is would be cute to server Snicker-doodles to our guest with shot glasses of milk. Is that not cute?!

  • I am having a groom’s cake made with a checkerboard and checkers on top for my game loving man! And the best part I am filling it with chocolate genache! Can you say YUMMY!

  • Doing a themed candy display table for our guests. Our theme colors are red, pink and white.

  • We are doing Pumpkin Scones! I have included the recipe and instructions for anyone who wants to make them. These measurements are in metric.

    2½ cups self-raising flour
    ½ teaspoon mixed spice
    30g cold butter, chopped
    1 cup cold mashed pumpkin
    ¼ cup brown sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    Butter and honey, to serve

Preheat oven to very hot, 220°C. Lightly grease a scone tray. Sift flour and spice together into a large bowl. Add butter. Rub in lightly using fingertips. Make a well in centre of dry ingredients. Add pumpkin, sugar and egg.
Using a bread and butter knife, mix quickly to a soft, sticky dough. Do not over-mix. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Knead lightly. Press or roll out to form a round about 2cm thick. Cut into 16 rounds (I find you can use the top of a small glass to do this and they come out perfectly) Place close together on tray. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until scones sound hollow when tapped. Cool on a wire rack. Serve with butter and honey. Or they are amazing with jam and cream.

  • Popcorn! Sorry it wasn’t on the list. We have a movie theme so we thought popcorn boxes filled with popcorn would be a cute idea.

  • Wow a lot of different answers here. I feel like I need to revisit my decision with so many options out there. I am actually liking the “cakepop ombre” idea!

  • Interesting no one has touched on lollipops. We are doing a lollipop tree for our guests.

  • We are doing a small outdoor wedding and offering our guests Smores. Who doesn’t love Smores!

  • We are having about 35 people at our wedding. I found and inexpensive cake, in the style I wanted from a supermarket for under or close to $100.
