Let’s take a minute to look back at a few of the trends we saw in bridesmaid dresses in 2011:davids bridal pippa dress

Trend: Bridesmaids in White

This year we saw many brides do something very un-traditional, they put their bridesmaids in white.  Most brides would want their white dress to stand apart from the rest of the bridal party, but trendsetters Princess Kate Middleton and Kim Kardashian both chose to dress their bridesmaids in white.  Since the Royal Wedding, Pippa Middleton especially has caused quite a stir and has been making herself known as a style icon.  You can find the above Pippa inspired dress and other affordable bridesmaid dresses at David’s Bridal.

Trend: One Color, Different Style

This trend has become very popular this year and is quite sensible.  Your bridesmaids all have different bodies, why not embrace it?  The odds of finding one dress that everyone loves equally and feels comfortable in are slim.  Save yourself the added stress and pick one color (or a couple) and let each bridesmaid pick the style of dress that is best suited for them.

Trend: Separates

Who says bridesmaids have to wear dresses?  Separates are a fun new trend that allows them to mix and match tops and bottoms while still coordinating.  This allows them to bring a little more of their personal style in and still looks great.

Do you plan on using any of these styles in your wedding? With the New Year will surely come new trends!  What new ideas are you hoping to see in 2015? Visit David’s Bridal for all your bridal dress needs.
