FROM THE COUPLE:

CREATIVE ASPECT

Stephen is an airline pilot, so we took a lot of inspiration from that. We had custom passport stamps on the programs, boarding passes as place cards, airport codes instead of table numbers, and mini suitcases filled with luggage tags and airline cookies as party favors to be picked up at the “baggage claim” table. At first I was worried it would be too much, but it actually turned out perfect in the end.

OUR THEME

We had a travel theme accented with airplanes rather than maps. To pair with the atmosphere of the venue, we went with more timeless colors of Gold, Ivory and Black.

FAVORITE DETAIL

We had a lot of candles, but we also incorporated some candles as our way to honor our loved ones who have passed. We had a photo and a candle for each my father, and several of our grandparents. The moving and flickering candles gave more of the feeling of their presence, or life itself, that they were truly there with us.

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE
When doing bride and groom photos, you might want it to be more of a private moment, but you really need your mother, maid of honor, or someone there to help you with carrying your bouquet, second pair of shoes, or to help fluff up your dress. It felt more stressful without someone there to help with those things with the photographer’s all over the place and the groom having no clue what “fluff up my dress” meant.
