From the Photographer:

Nicholl and Jason are nothing if not patriotic. The all-American, fun-loving couple tied the knot on July 3rd in a red-white-and-blue ceremony at Miner’s Park in historical Virginia City, Nevada. The two were excited to have a rowdy celebration with their friends and loved ones, and knew that Piper’s Opera House was the ideal venue for their Americana post-nuptials. When asked how Nicholl knew Jason was the one, she replied, “We are a dog couple! That was one thing that really solidified my love for Jason – was his love for dogs like me. We both sing dog songs – alone, together and to each other. The other day, the first thing Jason said when he woke up was “I like big steaks and I cannot lie…” I was laughing so hard. The timing, the thought, was hilarious! That’s one reason why I love him.”

The bride chose a princess-inspired wedding gown by Pronovias from Reno’s own Swoon Bridal Shop, to reflect her proposal. “Jason proposed to me in the Sleeping Beauty castle at Disneyland, since I’m a Sleeping Beauty collector and well, basically wish I was a princess.” Her enchanting selection features a fit and flare style, with dreamy layers of tulle and a beaded bodice. Her heels are reminiscent of Cinderella’s glass slippers, with just the right amount of sparkle.  Her bouquet was hand-made entirely of old brooches and jewelry – a great idea to create a keepsake that can be passed to the next generation!

The bridesmaids were decked out in true blue dresses from David’s Bridal, which perfectly complimented the groom and groomsmen who wore classic suits with blue ties from Men’s Warehouse. The wedding party gathered for Tourine and Trevor to take some playful portraits before the bride was taken to her ceremony venue in horse drawn carriage. After the informal outdoor ceremony that was wonderfully coordinated by Joseph Garton and Jamie Johnson, the couple and their guests headed to Piper’s Opera House where the party heated up.

Nothing Bundt Cakes provided the American Flag cake for Nicholl and Jason’s special day, which was perfectly complimented by the party favors of American Flag pinwheels and sparklers. Nicholl and Jason had a moment to sneak away from the revelries for an intimate portrait session on the rustic wooden Virginia City walkway in front of Piper’s Opera House, where we were able to capture a pure expression of their love.

Congratulations to the happy couple, and we know the marriage will be as strong as the Stars and Stripes.
