From the Photographer:

I have never quite felt ‘at home’ with a bride and groom before, as I did these two. When I walked into the door, the first thing AJ did was hand Kristen (my second) and I gifts. Basically the gifts were pins that were encouraging us, to be our weird selves.

Aj and Andrew basically did everything themselves, along with involving as many give back, and local businesses as possible. These two, are exactly who my husband and I are, so everything seemed so close knit. From including family members as much as possible, to AJ baking her very own cake – this wedding was my dream and I am so glad I could be included in it.More Album Info from AJ:Flowers for Dreams is a Chicago based company – they are doing all the bouquets. It was important to have some of Chicago with us on our big day. The company features a new, amazing, local charity each month and contributes 25% of their proceeds to that non-profit organization. Both AJ and Andrew have worked with or admired many of the agencies they benefit, so it seemed only fitting. The remainder of the flowers are (hopefully) coming from the Elberta/Frankfort Famers Market. We (along with our loved ones) made all the desserts and rather than a receiving line, we plan to serve everyone dessert. Our friend, Patches (his real name is Adam), is officiating. Our toasts are going to be with lambic-style sour beer, which we brewed over a year ago.

HOW THEY MET:  We both went to Loyola University Chicago and we met at a St. Patrick’s Day party in 2007 hosted by the ultimate Frisbee teams (AJ played throughout college). Andrew attended the party with his now-best man, Ryan Kurka (also a member of the ultimate team). Andrew and AJ spent the next two months trying (mostly unsuccessfully) to run into each other on campus before finally reconnecting in May. When AJ mentioned she needed a place to store some of her stuff for a few days before moving into a new apartment, Andrew offered his place, and the rest was, as the saying goes, history.
