From the Photographer:
The bride and groom pretty much planned their entire wedding themselves – hard to believe considering how perfect each and every detail was. From the bride’s (and bridesmaids) bouquet, self made necklace and birdcage veil, to the centerpieces and name card holders, every detail was a labor of love and mad DIY skills!
Brittani even joked that she would have made her own wedding dress had she not been in school and working full time! There were also incredibly sweet surprises along the way, like authentic Peruvian food cooked in entirety by the groom and his family!
The groom is a huge kayaking enthusiast and surprised his fellow outdoorsy bride by organizing an oar sendoff after their ceremony. The pictures truly captured her amazing surprise and excitement, as well as the groom’s happy grin! Not to be outdone, the groomsmen initiated Brittani into their adventurer club by gifting her kayaking shoes stuffed with beer cans during their speech. Gotta love those inside jokes!
The couple are also huge travel and wine lovers and they elegantly incorporated these details throughout their wedding – the names for each table, the name card holders and even their ceremony vows. Last but not least, the gorgeous bride had an outfit change and surprise flash mob dance with her Zumba girls (to About that Bass, no less – choreographed by the bride) and surprised all their guests! Hard to believe all these little details and surprises and diy projects could mesh together so well in such an elegant event but if anybody can pull it off, it’s wonderful people like Brittani and Gonzalo.
Oh and did I mention their first dance was a SMOLDERING bachata choreographed by – you guessed it – the bride!
I truly wanted to honor their vision and flawless execution by submitting this FABULOUS diy wedding! Not just because I love love love the images (which I do) and not just because they are two of the loveliest people you’ll ever meet but because they worked SO hard and did SO much themselves and still managed to have a blast!
