FROM THE COUPLE:

CREATIVE ASPECT

We chose Adams International School as our venue because it has such an easy, clean pallet to work with.  The walls of the barn were all blank and I knew this would be the perfect place to let our creativity soar.

For the wedding, we took wooden pallets apart and painted them the colors of our wedding and put them together in a random pattern to hang on the walls.  We did all of the lettering on all of the chalkboards, cut down a cedar tree on my mothers property sanded and sealed over 30 cross sections and used them as the centerpieces for tables and the cake/cupcake table.  The table numbers were all made out of old pallet pieces, wood numbers, and various old door knobs.

FAVORITE DETAIL

The groom’s boutonniere had an old key that went with the lock on my bouquet provided by the grooms mother.

OUR THEME

Adams International School in Maidens VA is a perfect rustic barn theme.  Our wedding colors were teal/turquoise, browns, and yellow (sunflowers).

MEMORABLE MOMENT

Our first dance.  “That’s Whats Up” a cover by Lennon and Maisy.  Before dating, we reconnected at another wedding and we both had a blast dancing the whole night together.  Ever since then, we always loved and enjoyed weddings and all the dancing.  So we new we wanted a fun unique song as our first dance.

BRIDE’S ADVICE

As a creative person myself, I had a lot of ideas that I wanted to make.  The best advice I can give is have all of your ideas early on and if possible share your ideas so that your friends and family can add their creativity
to the process.
