Cranberry-infused simple syrup
  • 1/3cup Sugar
  • 1cup fresh cranberries
  • 3/4cup water
  1. Add the cranberry simple syrup components to a small pot on the stove. Stir.
  2. Cover with a lid and cook on medium for approximately 7-10 minutes or until the cranberries “pop.”
  3. Mash with a spoon and reduce the heat to low.
  4. Cook another 5 minutes until you notice the sides of the mix starting to gel on the pot.
  5. Strain by putting through a fine mesh sieve or use a tablespoon to remove only the juice for the cocktail and save the rest for a jam or traditional cranberry sauce.
  6. To make a cranberry sauce, use the remaining mix and add sugar to taste with a dash of lemon juice or zest.
  7. Add ice, gin, and cranberry syrup to a cocktail shaker and shake to chill.
  8. Pour into a chilled martini glass and garnish.
